Schools as places of joyful possibility
Imagine
I work alongside educators to create professional learning where teaching well and being well strengthen each other.
For more than two decades, my work has focused on creating the conditions for educators and children to thrive together while achieving academic success. I bring together three priorities that matter deeply in schools: wellbeing, teaching, and student learning. Each one strengthens the others, and creative health offers a way to nurture all three simultaneously. Creative health refers to creative approaches and activities that support physical, mental, and social health and wellbeing.

Bring creativity, connection, and joy to the books you read together. When you choose a great professional book, you’re investing in the ideas—and in the people who will learn from them. How you gather around those ideas matters, too. Reading Socials draw on the benefits of creative health to strengthen connection, participation, and enjoyment in professional learning.

Schools looking for support and advice from experts deserve educators with broad and deep lived experience, academic integrity, original thinking, and a sophisticated understanding of professional learning. Dr. Misty Paterson fits those criteria perfectly.”
Wellbeing. Teaching. Learning. Each one strengthens the others.
Creative health provides the rationale for why creativity, connection, and meaningful participation matter for wellbeing. My signature Pop-Up Studio approach provides the pedagogical framework for bringing those benefits into the experience of teaching and learning.
Educators experience the same artful, inquiry-rich practices they can adapt with students, bringing being well and teaching well into the same experience.
Rather than adding another wellbeing initiative to an already full plate, the Pop-Up Studio approach brings creativity, connection, and meaningful participation into daily life in schools—strengthening wellbeing, teaching, and student learning together.
